Lodging--The Hotel Agua Azul is worth staying at for at least a couple of nights. The cabins have just the right amount of funk. The food is good. The views and birds are great.

John, suggest you fly (or take a bus) to Tegucigalpa, the capitol. From there, it is relatively easy to get to Lago de Yojoa. Take the bus (or rental car) to San Pedro Sula and get off early. I didn't use a tour guide; just did it. I'd suggest going to the hotel and staying a few days. I bet they can take care of you. If you don't like it, they can tell you what else is available. I didn't fish, but everyday I saw fishermen taking large bass from the lake. There are boats available at Hotel Agua Azul. I think a float tube and a 7 weight would be the way to go.
